Winenotes Jul 2010
July 2010
Summer is progressing beautifully, the deck is getting some use, even on nights when it rains if one dines early enough and local farmers markets have started in both White Bear and Mahtomedi. Besides all the fresh produce you never know who you will run into. Julie Kramer was signing her latest book, Silencing Sam at the White Bear market. As we round the bend and stroll into July I can’t help but think of that old John Stewart classic July, You’re a Woman, and realize I can’t hold it to the road when you’re sitting here beside me. Some days are like that.
Wine Dinner-Rachael White, former Ursula’s employee and creator of the very popular blog Tokyo Terrace, is home from Japan for the summer. Valentine’s Day in August-Join us August 14 as we prepare a special four course dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day on a lovely summer evening when we don’t have to put on snowmobile suits to go out for the evening. Wear open toed shoes without fear of them filling with slush. Dinner is $40 per person with wine flights available at $25 and $50. This was a sell out last summer, reserve early so you don’t miss the fun. 651-429-9600.
